Kirsten Stockford, B.Sc, B.Ed, RMT
![]() Kirsten is a graduate of the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy, and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. Prior to pursuing Massage Therapy, Kirsten obtained a B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Science from the University of Victoria. Kirsten has experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, children and elite athletes in multidisciplinary health-care practices. She is currently part of the Arbutus Physiotherapy and Wellness team at the Arbutus Club, and now joins Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club as a registered massage therapist.
Kirsten’s primary areas of interest are in orthopedics, biomechanics and musculoskeletal imbalance related to daily posture, sports and repetitive activities. In treating a wide variety of soft tissue injuries, Kirsten’s treatment techniques include deep tissue therapy, myofascial release, PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), neuro-muscular therapy, muscle energy techniques, trigger point release and client education. Kirsten believes in therapeutic and rehabilitative approaches and is dedicated to improving the over-all health and wellbeing of her patients.
When not advancing her own knowledge with continued education, Kirsten will be found skiing in the mountains or surfing the ocean.
Shawna Gnutel, MA, RMT
Shawna graduated from the College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Toronto in 1998. She owned and operated an award winning massage therapy clinic, The Body Clinic in downtown Toronto for five years then moved to beautiful Vancouver in 2004. She has experience treating a wide range of conditions including sports related injuries, chronic pain, stress management, repetitive strains and other issues affecting the musculo-skeletal system. Shawna strives to make each treatment personalized and assists each client to achieve a healthier, happier lifestyle.
