Ram Nayyar is the Head Badminton Professional at the Club. As a player he has reached highly competitive levels playing against teams and individuals from China, Korea, Malaysia, Denmark, India, USA, England and Scotland.
After graduating from University with a BA, Ram chose a career in Badminton and quickly rose to the top as a high performance coach. He has his Level 5 NCCP Certification, is a Chartered Professional Coach and has been a coaching consultant to U.S. Olympic Programs.
While Ram has a long list of impressive coaching experience, what is most impressive about Ram is his enthusiasm for badminton and his ability to foster in his students a similar enthusiasm for the sport and a commitment to do whatever it takes to excel. In addition to running an exceptional competitive program he enjoys organizing play for all level and abilities. Ram's outgoing friendly manner has attracted many new faces to the badminton hall which, on many an evening, is overflowing with badminton enthusiasts.

Kiran Kumar - Assistant Badminton Professional
Kiran was born and raised in India and came to Canada in 1999. He has been coaching and playing at VLTBC since his arrival. As an international competitor, Kiran has won the several European Badminton Union Events such as the Swiss and Polish Opens and been a Top-Eight finisher in the French and German Open Championships.
Once ranked in the top 60 Mens Open Singles players in the world, Kiran brings a great deal of competitive experience which he passes on to our aspiring juniors and seniors alike. He has completed a Level 2 NCCP coaching certification and is also working towards a degree in Business Administration.
